Art Speaks Loudly the Word of God Softly.--TM

My daughter is a philosophy major in college. She tells me that the way to understand an issue is to look at the arguments from all sides and determine what you really believe. For every argument, there is always an opposite point of view.

 Faith, hope, and love are words from a much quoted 1 Corinthians 13:13. To examine each of these from the opposite point of view brings a sharper clarity of understanding. What is the opposite of faith? Fear. What is the opposite of hope? Despair. What is the opposite of love? Indifference.

If fear is the opposite faith, then embrace faith. If despair is the opposite of hope, embrace hope. If love is the opposite of indifference, then embrace love. The apostle Paul said that after examining all the gifts of God these three remain: faith, hope, and love.

What do you believe today? What kind of life does God intend for each of us to live? Embrace faith, hope, and love today. Determine that their opposites have no place in your being.
