| OLD NORTH CHURCH Size: 20 X 30 giclee signed print on canvas Artist: La Juan Schlegel The bluebonnets in La Juan Schlegel's paintings are so perfectly real, you can almost pick them off the canvas! This 20 X 30 giclee print from an original painting by Texas artist La Juan Schlegel is on canvas, stretched and ready to frame. Each print is signed by the artist. History: The location of Old North Church and the famous oak tree in the painting, inspired Mrs. Schlegel to paint a resemblance of the Old North Church of Nacogdoches, Texas, in an abundant field of bluebonnets. A well-worn trail leads to the front entrance doors of the little country church. This special church reflects the influence and stories of Mrs. Schlegel's family ancestors of early frontier days in East Texas. "My great-great-grandfather taught school and was the first to preach under the oak tree around 1835." explains the Texas Bluebonnet Artist, La Juan Schlegel. His name was Isaac Reed, and a stone at the bottom of the tree that has his name on it. Unfortunately, the oak tree was terribly damaged and fell during Hurricane Rita. American family heritage and generational stories are remembered with each of La Juan's strokes on "The Old North Church."
